The decay of44Ti has been studied with scintillation spectrometers, coincidences and delayed coincidences. It was found that it decays by electron capture to the second excited state of44Sc. This is followed by a γ-ray of 79 keV and then a γ-ray of 70 keV. The 70 keV state is metastable with a half life of 0.18 µs.
