The article presents a study on the direction of identity reconstruction process of a group of Bangladeshi sex workers from their identity narratives and examines the patterns of identity reconstruction dynamics of this group of sex workers. The Bangladeshi society treats prostitutes with extreme dishonor and inhumanity , and the relation between sex workers and the society is based upon mutual mistrust and tension. The study found four kinds of identity talks that were derived from the analysis including associational dialecticism, oppression consciousness, resistance narrative, and essentialist contention.
