The article discusses the outcome of the Coonawarra Rootstock Demonstration Project in which range of Cabernet Sauvignon rootstocks were planted in 2009 in Coonawarra region of South Australia to yield data on rootstock performance for wine industry. Objectives of the project include reporting performance of rootstocks grown on soil type Terra Rosa, raising awareness on biosecurity strategy for phylloxera and impact of climate changes and providing growers access to alternatives.
