The article highlights the contributions of Donald J. Bell and Albert S. Howell to the U.S. film industry from 1869 to 1951. It is believed that Bell and Howell provided the first chain of high precision compatible motion picture equipment in the world. Their contributions included film perforations and sprockets, all-metal camera and various film laboratory equipment.
