The article reports on William Kennedy Laurie Dickson, the first American cinematographer. His fascination to scientific experiments was further enhanced when he landed a job at the testing and experimental department of Thomas Edison's Electric Light Company. He also served as chief electrician at the Edison Electric Tube Company. These two men worked together in 1887 on the project involving moving pictures for entertainment.
