The article presents a study which examines the impacts of the entomopathogenic fungus, Verticillium lecanii, on the biological characteristics of whitefly predator Axinoscymnus cardilobus. It states that bemisia tabaci and A. cardilobus were sourced from stock colony kept in greenhouse of the Engineering Research Center of Biological Control in South China Agricultural University (SCAU) on poinsettia. The collected whiteflies were studied using five different conidial concentrations under laboratory conditions. It shows that the total development period for A. cardilobus was detected longest when treated with 1x 107 spore/ml. It says that the treatment with V. lecanii did not evoke any substantial effect on mean generation time and intrinsic rate of A. cardilobus.
