The article presents a study which examines the insect population in the safflower Carthamus tinctorious L. The study uses visual count method, descriptive statistics, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine the population dynamics of insect pest in safflower. Results show that jassid (Amrasca bigutella bigutella), aphids (Uroleucon carthami), and lygus bug (Lygus Hesperus K.) have the maximum population in the safflower varieties. Moreover, crop cultivar, phenology of plant, and temperature can contribute to the growth of insect population in safflower.
