The article reports on the preparation of waterborne polyurethane (WBPU)/poly (N-vinylpryrrolidone) (PVP) composite films using in situ polymerization in an aqueous medium. According to the authors, the water absorption and equilibrium content of the composite films increased at an equal rate to the PVP content and time of water immersion. They claim that the results of the analysis showed that WBPU/PVP composite films have high potentials as wound dressing materials that can maintain the moist environment necessary to prevent scabbing.
