This article discusses the concept of color metamerism in the measurement of color. It explains the importance of color metamerism to industrial color matching. It defines color metamerism as visual stimuli which shows identical colors through the human eye but have different spectral energy distributions. It also identifies the differences in the spectral compositions of two metameric stimuli. In addition, the article explores the limits of color mismatches in textile dying and finishing operations.
