The article discusses a research study which evaluated the biomechanical characteristics of a single self-locking knot (sSLK), a double self-locking knot (dSLK) and a square knot (SQ) for lateral fabellotibial structure stabilization of cranial cruciate ligament rupture. Comparison showed the greater tension, overall stiffness and load to failure in both the sSLK and dSLK than with the SQ. Results revealed to difference in elongation among the three knotting techniques were found.
