The article presents the discussion on 46 described species of seahorses, and all are grouped in the genus Hippocampus. Topics include right angles to the body having curved trunks possessing a prehensile tail instead of a caudal fin; and relying on their capacity for camouflage to avoid predators achieved by their ability to change color.
