The article describes a science activity which involves having students dissect fresh squid as part of their studies about coral reefs and then getting parent volunteers to clean and cook the squid mantle and then serve it to the students. The advantages offered by the activity are described, as well as the preparatory work for the activity. A list of questions that students need to answer after reading about cephalopods on the Internet and a detailed description of the dissection process is provided.
