The article focuses on the life and artworks of the painter Aaron Birnbaum in the U.S. Birnbaum was born of Jewish parents in Skola and grew up in an independent but lonely childhood. He shared that his school days were full of abysmal failure and great feelings of inferiority due to mixed nationalities. It notes that his paintings are rooted in his own cultural history which are generally more funky and rough than most traditional memory paintings. He has painted what he calls his remembering pictures which have rounded out his life in a way that has been both stimulating and comforting.
