The article presents a comparison between the efficiencies of selenized yeast (SY) and sodium selenite (SS) related to plasma glutathione peroxidase (Gpx) activity. It mentions that reduction in thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) resulted from the increase in plasma Gpx activity in all supplemented groups. It also concludes that selenite has more antioxidative effect in the first 4 weeks of broiler life that is reflected in liver TBARS values and lower plasma.
