The article offers information on a research paper on dispersed nanoparticles and its effectiveness on inflammation and fibrosis on animals. It offers information on an experiment to examine the gene expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) and tissue inhibitor matrix proteinase (TIMP) in rat lungs exposed to nickel oxide or titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The experiment found that inhaling nickel oxide or titanium dioxide did not induce the gene expression in rat's lung.
