The article examines the predictive ability of acculturation as an antecedent of stress, biobehavioral risk, corticotropin-releasing hormone levels and poor birth outcomes in pregnant Hispanic women in the United States. Results from the study proved that infant birth outcomes deteriorate the more a woman acculturates and the longer a woman is in the U.S.
