The articles appearing in this journal address the issues relating to collaboration in the supply chain. It has been widely considered that a key factor in any successful supply chain management by definition has to be closer relations between the business elements. However, with much of the focus on collaboration, there had been few examples of success. With few evidence, it becomes difficult to argue with the general principles of collaboration in the supply chain. Even the challenge of sharing information with other organizations is proving hard to overcome. The prevailing conditions will not alter until the day when business leaders come to conclusion that the biggest opportunities for cost reduction, revenue improvement and other forms of value extraction lie at the interfaces in the supply chain and generally these interfaces have not been well managed.
