This article presents information related to how a Great Britain and South African collaborative project is helping to improve access to mental health services for residents of KwaZakhele township in South Africa. A British Council-funded project was undertaken between the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting at the University of Manchester, the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Port Elizabeth (UPE), South Africa and the Health and Social Care Forum of the KwaZakhele Township, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The primary aim of the project was to improve access to mental health services for residents of the township.
