The air-dried roots of I A. chinensis i (5.0 kg) were extracted three times with 95% EtOH (20 L × 3) at room temperature and concentrated I in vacuo i to yield an extract (550 g), which was suspended in 2.0 L of water and then partitioned with petroleum ether (PE) (60-90°C), EtOAc (2 L × 3) successively, to yield petroleum ether extract (116 g), EtOAc extract (75 g). Fraction 6 (5.5 g) was subjected to CC on silica gel using PE-EtOAc (10:1-1:2) to give compounds B 9 b (5.4 mg), B 10 b (4.7 mg), B 11 b (3.7 mg), B 12 b (4.8 mg), and B 13 b (4.2 mg). The PE extract (116 g) was subjected to CC on silica gel using gradient elution with PE-EtOAc (100:1-1:100) to yield ten fractions 1-10. Fraction 4 (6.7g) were subjected to CC on silica gel using gradient elution with PE-EtOAc (20:1-1:1) to ecrystallize to obtain compound B 14 b (24.6 mg). [Extracted from the article]
