This article discusses a case report of a 34-year-old man with vitiligo, a condition characterized by white patches on the skin. The patient had refractory acral vitiligo on his hands and abdomen, meaning that previous treatments had not been effective. The patient was then treated with oral tofacitinib, a medication that inhibits the autoimmune reaction associated with vitiligo, in combination with narrowband ultraviolet-B (NB-UVB) phototherapy. After 16 weeks of treatment, the patient experienced repigmentation of the vitiligo lesions on his hands. The article suggests that tofacitinib combined with NB-UVB phototherapy may be a promising treatment option for progressive acral vitiligo. [Extracted from the article]
