The Statement „Together at the Lord's Table" of the Ecumenical Study Group of Protestant and Catholic Theologians was discussed by the Institutes of Protestant and Catholic Theology at the University of Koblenz. The contributors shed light on the document from the perspectives of their different disciplines (biblical studies, systematic theology, church history) as well as denominations (Catholic, Protestant, Free Church) in the sense of the detailed examination in academic discourse desired by the Ecumenical Study Group itself. The divergences and the resulting questions to all involved can lead to a theological discourse that enables all participants to move further towards each other. For such a movement, the document is an important aid, but one that needs to be critically deepened and thought through further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
