Active learning in a large medical classroom setting for teaching renal physiology.

The article presents an analysis regarding the active learning exercise which has been used to replace lecture hours for teaching renal physiology. Faculty members have experimented of dividing the class in half and presenting clinical cases in two lecture halls with an expert in each lecture halls. It mentions that the active learning exercise has been used to replace lecture hours in the renal portion of an integrated organ system-based curriculum for first-year medical students.
