The article presents two studies regarding Chinese herbal formula PHY906 as chemotherapeutic agents in cancer therapy, and the cost effectiveness of complementary medicines. The study on PHY906 shows that it has a dual effects of reducing the side-effects of chemotherapy and enhancing its antitumor actions. Meanwhile, the study on complementary medicines offers evidence that it could save millions in healthcare without compromising on patient outcomes.
