The article presents the study which aimed at determining the impact of a mandatory checklist of protocols and objectives to clinical practice patterns in an intensive care unit. The study showed that a mandatory verbal review of a checklist covering a broad range of aims and objectives at each patient's bed is an effective way of improving the implementation of best practices. It adds that a bedside checklist could prevent medical errors in intensive care unit management.
