Highlights from the article: How to evaluate reviewers - the international orthopedics reviewers score (INOR-RS) Peer-review (refereeing) is the process of subjecting an author's work to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field. Authors' suggested reviewers produce reviews of similar quality to editor-chosen reviewers [[8], [12]]; however, the former are more likely to recommend acceptance [[7], [12]]. To evaluate who are the best reviewers and to determine if there are any characteristics that would tend to predict the quality of their peer-reviews, we routinely review the peer-reviews performed in our journal by the reviewers included in the journal's reviewers' panel.
