Offers a study which shows that the transmembrane protein tyrosine phospatases (PTPases) CD45 suppresses Janus kinase (JAK) and negatively regulates cytokine receptor signalling. How CD45 is highly expressed in all haematopoietic lineages at all stages of development. Indication that CD45 could regulate other cell types and might act on additional substrates.
