The article presents information on the performance of several U.S. law firms included in "The American Lawyer" magazine's The Am Law 100 firms in 2009. Gross revenue, head count and revenue per lawyer of these firms have all declined, while profits per equity rose by 0.3 percent to 1.26 million U.S. dollars. Gross revenue fell by 3.4 percent and head count decreased by about 1 percent. A total of 64.8 billion U.S. dollars was earned by the firms during the year, which is down 2.3 billion U.S. dollars.
