This article reports that the month of May for 2010 had the worst Dow Jones Industrial Average since 1940. The last Friday of May saw the average drop by 122.36 points to give an overall negative result for the week, the month, and the year. Some blame the worsening economic crisis in Europe as the most recent culprit. U.S. Treasury bonds and the U.S. dollar benefited from Europe's problems.
