In this study, a solid-state ion exchange (SSIE) method is proposed to synthesize a series of Mn4+-doped fluoride phosphors, which avoids the use of HF solution during the Mn4+-doping process. The obtained Mn4+-doped fluoride phosphors exhibit strong red emission with a quantum yield of 46%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
