The article focuses on Radiotherapy often combined with chemotherapy which is the primary treatment strategy for squamous cell carcinoma of the anus. Topics include considered the treatment has been optimized through a series of phase II and III studies and is an effective and organ-preserving treatment strategy with several percentage of patients obtaining long-term tumour control.
