Aim: to determine the results of treatment of dorsal wrist ganglia by using the transfixation technique. Materials and methods: The present prospective study was conducted on 30 patients with dorsal wrist ganglia of size more than 5 mm presenting to the out-patient department of General surgery of Government Hospital Sarwal, Jammu, India. Proper clinical history was taken before starting the procedure along with proper examination. Results: in our study 30 cases treated by transfixation technique, mean age of the study population was 44.29±2.59 years. Majority of them were female and main reason for intervention was cosmetics. Cure rate of 93.3% and recurrence rate of 6.7% (only 2 patients showed recurrence) was observed under final outcome. Conclusion: Our method of transfixation for the treatment of ganglion is cost effective, less time consuming, minimally invasive, low rate of recurrence, can be carried out under local anesthesia, and does not require any special instrument.
