Https://doi.org/10.1093/ced/llac134 Dear Editor, We read with great interest the study in I Clinical and Experimental Dermatology i by Shah I et al i .[1] and commend them for providing an updated analysis of skin of colour (SoC) representation in dermatology educational resources. Top-down approach for increasing skin of colour representation in dermatology: emphasizing greater representation of skin of colour in national board examinations. Currently, the USMLEs overwhelmingly test dermatological conditions depicted in lighter skin types; in a recent study Meckley I et al i .[4] analysed self-assessments released by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the authors of the USMLEs, and found SoC representation to be a mere 24%.
