To the Editor, The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the acute respiratory coronavirus 2 is characterized by a prominent immune response with humoral immunity established as an essential factor in controlling the persistent phase of infection [[1]]. The obtained results show that COVID-19 patients in the initial disease phase present with prominently higher CRP levels, mostly not elevated WBC count and mild lymphopenia compared to COVID-19 negative patients with similar symptomatology, as previously reported [[4]].
