Celery herbs (Apium groveolens L.) and propolis, both have antioxidants and antihyperuricemia effects. This study aimed to examine the antihyperuricemia effect of the combination of A. graveolens and propolis extracts. The hyperuricemia animals model was a male Wistar rat (Rattus norvegicus) that was induced by chicken liver juice and orally. The animals were divided into 4 groups, i.e. A groveolens extract 50 mg/KgBW/day, propolis extract 50 mg/KgBW/day, combination extract of A graviolens : propolis (1:1), and allopurinol 3.6 mg/200gBW/day. The uric acid levels were analyzed by enzymatic photometrics methods with the FS*TBHBA kit. The data were analysed by One Way ANOVA and post-hoc Tukey test. The results showed that the combined extract showed significantly decreased uric acid levels in blood serum and increased excretion of uric acid through urine in hyperuricemia rats.
