This article discusses a case of meningoencephalitis and retinal vasculitis caused by a rickettsial infection. Rickettsia are bacteria that are transmitted through ectoparasites like ticks, fleas, mites, or lice. The patient in this case had recently traveled to Mexico and developed symptoms such as chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, headache, and meningism.
