The article discusses the problem and the solution to unfair contract terms. It mentions that people engage in contracts as they go about their daily lives, the terms of which tend to be fixed and nonnegotiable. Unfair terms in consumer contracts are said to have harsh implications for the weaker party which are the consumers. One solution adopted in Australia to address the problem is the Trade Practices (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No.1) 2010 of the Commonwealth under which factors that make a term unfair are stated.
