The present paper deals with the quality and structure of the map data recorded in the cadastral documentation in the Slovak Republic. Owing to the fact, that land register has been evolving over an extensive duration of time it's perceivable, that we can come across map complexes of various sources in practice: this involves especially cadastral maps produced in diverse cartography mapping, coordinate system or measurement method, which is often not particularly correct from the exactness point of view. This article points to the structure, quality and methods for updating a vector cadastral map currently, because cadastral map is an important basis of which the most common geodetic public works and surveying work largely affects the rights of its quality.
