This article discusses a case of Ewing sarcoma, a type of tumor that primarily affects bone and soft tissues. Ewing sarcomas are characterized by gene fusions involving the FET family of genes (FUS, EWS1, and TAF15) and the ETS family of transcription factors. The most common fusion in Ewing sarcoma is EWSR1::FLI1. However, this article reports a novel fusion (FUS::FLI1) that has not been previously reported in Ewing sarcomas. The case study describes the patient's medical history, diagnostic process, and treatment outcome. The significance of this novel fusion in tumorigenesis is still unknown. [Extracted from the article]
