In sum, these data highlight the need to continue to assess the socioeconomic, psychological, and illness management effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and how healthcare providers can provide additional resources (e.g., FA food assistance educational materials) to families of children with FA. The current study examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on finances, food access, childcare access, and healthcare access among caregivers of children with FA. Thus, an understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic effects on financial and access variables in addition to income changes in families with pediatric FA is needed. We also did not assess for socioeconomic difficulties prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and thus, the difficulties reported by caregivers may have been present prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
