The article focuses on a lithostratigraphic study of the Palaeogene-Lower Neogene succession of the Danish North Sea. The Danish portion of the North Sea is located in the central and eastern North Sea and features three major structural elements, namely, the Central Graben, the Norwegian-Danish Basin and the Ringk&oslah;bing-Fyn High. The correlation between key biostratigraphic events encountered in the units and the calibrated standard chronostratigraphy formed the basis of the age assessment of the lithostratigraphic units.
