The article discusses the role of registered nurse (RN) in ambulatory care in the U.S. and presents its economic value. The Americans for Nursing Shortage Relief convened a congressional briefing that address the ambulatory care in the area. Two themes emerged concerning the role of RN which includes a coordinating care and services as well as ensuring continuity of care. Client satisfaction is an important outcome that assesses quality of nursing care and economic measure.
