In this study, the structural, morphological and electrical properties of aluminium antimonide (AlSb) samples irradiated with 500,1000,1500,2000 shots of GAMKrF Excimer laser (248 nm, 25 mJ, 20 ns) under vacuum ~10-5torr were investigated. AlSb samples were prepared by standard powder metallurgy method. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that the crystal size of AlSb increased upto 1000 laser shots and with the further increase in laser shots decreased due to the occurrence of recrystallization. Surface morphology revealed that surface was non-uniform and rough. Laser irradiation on AlSb samples produced effects like one formation, needle like structures, flacks, ripple formation and non symmetric heat flow. The electrical properties of AlSb showed that the average resistivity increased by increasing the number of laser shots. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
