The article offers information on Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections in Saudi Arabia. Statistics obtained from blood donor screening centers have pointed to prevalence rates of 0.4 to 1 percent. There are more than one lakh HCV infected patients in Saudi Arabia, of whom nearly 50 percent of them are expected to suffer from advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis.
