This study analyzes how the content elements of middle and high school career and vocational textbooks developed based on the 2015 revised special education basic curricu-lum are linked to the NCS and suitable occupations for person with developmental dis-abilities to improve future career and vocational textbooks. There is a purpose to present. The content contained in the textbooks was analyzed based on the NCS and the appro-priate occupational types for person with developmental disabilities based on the analysis criteria developed for two textbooks (4 volumes) developed according to the curriculum of the 2015 revised special education basic curriculum career and vocational subjects. As a result, first, career and vocational textbooks in the basic curriculum still focus on job rather than career exploration, and awareness-oriented activities. Second, the core competencies of learning activities were also mainly focused on the field of career and vocational competence . Third, the connection with the NCS was oriented toward the units of 'problem solving ability' in middle school and 'technical ability' in high school. Fourth, it was found that the job types suggested in textbooks were also more oriented to specific jobs than jobs suitable for person with developmental disabilities. Therefore, based on the research results, it was suggested that for the future revision of career and vocational textbooks, it is necessary to restructure the contents in consid-eration of the major concepts and core competencies of learning activities with the NCS, and taking into account the occupations suitable for person with developmental disabilities.
