The purpose of this study is to understand how Confucius's evaluation of Confucianism has changed in China, and how the evaluation of Confucianism and Confucianism is reflected in the current content of middle school education. Modern China can be roughly divided into three periods after the founding of New China on October 1, 1949. From the early days of New China from 1949 to 1966, the period of the Cultural Revolution from 1966 to 1976, and the period of reform and opening up since 1976. The study analyzes the evaluation of Confucius and Confucianism in these three periods. From 1949 to 1966, in order to spread Marxism widely, traditional ideas represented by Confucianism were criticized and transformed. From 1966 to 1976 was the period of the “Cultural Revolution”. Confucianism was considered as a feudal idea that hindered social development and was destroyed. After 1976, the strong inclusiveness of Confucianism and the characteristics of conforming to social development were gradually accepted. As a representative of traditional Chinese culture, Confucianism was continuously popularized and learned. The evaluation of Confucius and Confucianism is completely different from before. The following study examines how the evaluation of Confucius is reflected in China's secondary education. Its analysis objects are 『Chinese』, 『Ideology and Morality』and 『History』. Selected textbooks are published by the Chinese People's Education Press, and textbooks used in most parts of China are published by the People's Education Press. Junior high school is the last and most important stage of compulsory education. This stage is the period that determines the child's growth. During this period, the students' thinking grows and their personality is initially established. The textbook analysis results show that the content of Confucius and the Analects in the textbook can cultivate students' patriotism and social responsibility and their own moral cultivation. In addition to textbook content, secondary education also educates Confucian and Confucian ideas through various thematic activities. Its thematic activities include the Confucian Debate Conference and the Chinese Classics Recitation Conference. The Confucianism Debate Conference invited middle school student debate groups from different regions at home and abroad to gather in Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, to apply the essence of Confucianism to discussions in real life. Chinese Classics Recitation Conference includes ancient poems, the Analects, Golden Mean, and Filial piety. Practice has proved that the essence of traditional culture requires students to have certain Confucian ideological knowledge. The purpose is to deepen students' understanding of traditional culture and improve their cultural quality. As a traditional Chinese culture, Confucianism has a profound impact on the social, economic, and moral aspects of modern China. Confucius and Confucianism has received a lot of criticism before, but the evaluation has changed since the reform and opening up and has become an important content in education. That is to say in 『Chinese』, 『Ideology and Morality』and 『History』 textbooks, and teach Confucian and Confucian ideas through thematic activities. This is because traditional Chinese culture believes that educational development in modern China still requires Confucian and Confucian ideas.
