The purpose of this paper is to design an effective educational method for Chinese native speakers to learn metaphorical expression of emotion in Korean. It is widely know that we are born with emotions, which are indispensable part of our life. Every day, people have a variety of complex and diverse emotions and they are invisible, intangible and abstract. According to other surveys, it is said that it is hard for foreigners to express their feelings in Korean when they learn Korean. In addition, as for Chinese people, it is more difficult to express their feelings in Korean especially negative emotions. Therefore, this paper focus on negative emotions in Korean such as "anger, sadness, fear, hatred" by using Metaphor in Korean, based on the principles of Cognitive Linguistics. The result of this study is presented in each chapter as follows:The first chapter introduces the purpose of research and the significance of this paper, and formulates the method of the research based on the prior research. The second chapter expounds the theoretical background and the educational significance of the Metaphorical principle of Cognitive Linguistics in teaching as a second foreign language. The third chapter compares the similarities and differences between Korean and Chinese languages in the expression of native emotions such as anger, sadness, fear and hatred, and briefly discusses the reasons for the differences. The fourth chapter analyzes the metaphorical expressions of negative emotions in Korean textbooks in order to find out current the situation of education. The fifth chapter creates an educational model based on the contents of the first two chapters. Through the educational model, this paper suggests an educational program. The final chapter is the conclusion of this paper.
