Due to the rapid development of the Korean musical market in the 2000s and the active introduction of Korean musicals in China in the 2010s, Chinese musical practitioners began to pay attention to Korean musicals. The rapid growth achieved in the Korean and Japanese musical markets has made it possible to expect the rapid growth of the Chinese musical market.However, five years later, in 2016, types and works of musical performances in China have been grown, but the market size did not show much difference. The national income is still relatively low and the replacements such as movie and other entertainments are growing explosively recently, which prevents growth of the musical market. It is not difficult to see Korean musicals in Chinese musical market. In China, the Korean musical market has been recognized as a more developed market, and it is being benchmarked like other fields of the cultural industry. When they talk about Chinese musical development, the development of the Korean cultural and musical industry is always been discussed.Korean musical industry is making various efforts to advance into the Chinese market. Especially, in recent years, Korea has been aware of the saturation of the domestic musical market and is moving into the wider market, overseas market actively. In 2001, Korea’s musical has entered Chinese market. It was which was a three-country joint venture between Korea, China and Japan. In 2010, CJ established a joint venture with a Chinese company to advance into local musical production. Therefore, studies on entering the Chinese market was not limited, and all of these studies have started with the necessity of exporting Korean musicals.This study will analyze 'Korean musicals in Chinese musical market' from the viewpoint of China instead of Korea. First, order to understand the Chinese musical market, we will analyze the current status and characteristics and the weaknesses that limit its development. Next would be summarize the recognition of the Korean musicals and works in the Chinese market. Classifying them by types and them by type and analyze their representative cases. However, since there is no official statistical data or report on the current status of musical market in China, this study will organize the market situation in China through various literature searches and articles of China and Korea. To analyze the perceptions and specific cases of Korean musicals, this study have performed focused interview with related persons in order to obtain empirical information.Based on the case analysis, Suggestions based on results of case analysis of this study are as follows; First, suggested the following suggestions and suggestions for Korean musicals' entry into the Chinese market.First, we recommend licensing sales methods that are more profitable and market demand better. Second, it is necessary to build an interchange platform between Korean and Chinese musical industries to solve the lack of information and communication problems for more efficient contents and advancement of human resources. Third, it is strongly recommended to establish a local corporation that can be a stepping stone for various advancement methods.
