ABSTRACT A study on the educational method of Korean conjunctive ending ?-aseo/eoseo? for Chinese Korean learners- The Audio-visual Teaching Method and Communication Teaching Method - Du Juan Department of Korean Education Graduate School of Kongju National University Supervised by Professor Song Hong Kyu This research is to examine the errors of linkers(ending words) in terms of composition, ?-aseo/eoseo?, made by learners of Hangŭl, specifically the Chinese-natives in this paper, and based on the categories of errors, teaching methods in seeking for error-reduction will be suggested. ?Linkers? (ending words) are used in the stem of words to connect or smoothly move onto the next words. In other words, they function as the connecting loop of one sentence to another, and in syntactical context, the meaning of linking sentences may also be indicated. Furthermore, cohesion and unity are provided to the sentence as a whole. Thus, a teaching method of linkers is highly important in the educational spectrum of Korean language. In chapter two, the aspects of how linkers, ?-aseo/eoseo?, are used and an analysis of errors are discussed. Frequencies and patterns of errors were analyzed in the basis of a composition written by a freshman, at an elementary level, studying in the Department of Korean at Habuk University. In the third chapter, a teaching method of a precise employment of linkers ?-aseo/eoseo? and how to enhance the ability to apply will be proposed. First and foremost, the principles, features, and the reality of ?audio-visual teaching method? and ?communication teaching method? incorporated in ways of Korean education are presented. Moreover, a teaching model and measures are also proposed for lessening the errors of ?-aseo/eoseo? primarily upon the audio-visual teaching method and communication teaching method. For the first proposal of teaching method, morphology, meaning, and application of linkers should all be educated. Secondly, morphological and semantic characteristics of linkers with similar meanings should be taught throughout substitution drills. Thirdly, practice patterns suitable for objective linkers are ought to be explored As for the last part, limitation and the domain in need of further study are mentioned as well as a summarization of this research.Key Words: Linkers (Transition words), Categories of Errors, Analysis of Errors, Audio-visual Teaching Method, Communication Teaching Method
