The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the syllable ending of falling tone in Chinese and Korean by comparing the falling tone in Yangzhou dialect and Korean, enable Korean learners from Yangzhou area in China to be interested in learning Korean and to learn word pronunciation more effectively. Korean pronunciation for Chinese learners is still a difficult part. Especially, the final consonant of the Korean pronunciation is not correct. This is because the falling tone of Mandarin have been lost. However, some Chinese dialects are similar to Korean pronunciation. This study started with the expectation that if there is a correspondence relation between Chinese dialect and Korean pronunciation, and if Korean learners learn about this relationship, it will make Korean learners to decrease a little dislike of Korean and cause interest. For this purpose, firstly this study examined the introduction and the acculturation of the Chinese character in Korea. In addition, found the phonetic feature of the falling Tone in Yangzhou dialect and Korean. Then, this study compared the falling tone of Yangzhou dialect with Korean pronunciation based on the Chinese middle tone. According to the comparative result, this study has systematically summarized the universality and specificity relationship between the syllable ending of falling tone in Yangzhou dialect and Korean. I hope that the results of this study will be applied to Korean language learners who use the Yangzhou dialect effectively.
