This study examines determinants of the degree of concentration for news use between Korean and Chinese college students. This study uses four dimensions including news content genre, device, time and space, for explaining determinants of news use concentration. Some major findings are as follows; firstly, there were no any significant differences between Korean and Chinese college students in terms of the degree of concentration for news genre preferences. Secondly, although there were no any significant factors in explaining diversity of news content genres in Korean college students, the amount of television viewing was a significant factor in Chinese college students. Thirdly, in terms of concentration in news interface device, some lifestyle factor such as task-oriented, and media uses including newspaper and smart phone were negative factors for explaining diversity in Korean college students. However, some media use variables such as radio, newspaper and television explained device concentration in Chinese college students. Fourthly, in terms of concentration in news use time, some lifestyle factor such as task-oriented was a negative factor for explaining concentration in Korean college students. However, a media use variable such as radio, and a lifestyle factor such as task-oriented explained news time diversity in Chinese college students. Finally, in terms of contration in news use space, a newspaper use factor was a important factor for explaining diversity in Korean college students. However, a media use variable such as radio, and a lifestyle variable such as fashion tend-oriented explained news space concentration in Chinese college students.
